Uma das lendas do esporte, fez um anúncio a alguns dias de que deixaria as competições de lado e apenas continuaria participando de shows e apresentações.
André Villla postou em seu perfil do Facebook a seguinte frase em inglês:
"It feels good when dreams come through, but dreams change by time. I have told myself to follow my gut all my life and yesterday at the price cermony i made it official that i will no more compete in FMX (x-games, x-fighters etc). Still riding demos and Speed And Style 100%. It has been amazing 10 years, but i am ready for new challenges with a body that still can doggy. Thank you for everyone being part of it. Much love"
Ele se refere a sua carreira, onde seu sonho de se tornar um piloto profissional se concretizou e virou realidade, muito além, virou um ícone no esporte. Mas como ele mesmo comenta, sonhos mudam com o tempo o que o fez tomar a decisão de largar as competições de freestyle. Somente continuará a competir em Speed and Style e apresentações demos.
Ainda comenta que sua carreira foi muito boa, por estes 10 anos, mas que está pronto para novos desafios.

Tivemos uma conversa com o piloto alemão Luc Ackermann, onde pudemos aprender um pouco mais sobre a vida deste garoto que vem a cada dia se aprimorando no freestyle motocross e abrindo caminho a sua longa jornada nos campeonatos mundiais.
Freestyle TZ: Por que a escolha pelo Freestyle Motocross? Luc Ackermann: Eu ando de FMX por que é muito divertido (com entonação de diversão) e todo dia é maravilhoso subir na minha moto e andar nela.
FTZ: Quem são seus ídolos e por que? LA: Meus ídolos são Travis Pastrana e Levi Sherwood. Travis porque ele faz o que quer e sempre vai com tudo. Levi Sherwood pelo seu estilo animal e por estar andando muito.
FTZ: O que você precisa para ter mais espaço no Night of the Jumps (NOTJ), Red Bull X-Fighters (RBXF) ou nos X Games? LA: Eu penso que só preciso ir mais forte e contudo. Andar e treinar mais para isso.
FTZ: O que você achou do cancelamento do Best Trick pelos X Games? Na sua compreensão o que pode acontecer com o esporte? LA: Acho que fizeram um grande erro! "O Best Trick" era para todos algo especial. E agora para mim é só mais uma série como todas as outras. O "normal" X Games foi melhor, ainda continua sendo X Games mas não o verdadeiro.
FTZ: Como desenvolve o seu treino? LA: Normalmente andando de moto, tenho feito muitos esportes para ficar forte. Mas meu treino é andar e saltar.
FTZ: O que seus pais fazem para lhe ajudar e a seu irmão (Hannes Ackermann)? LA: Meus pais me ajudam muito. Eles compraram minha primeira moto e sempre estão lá para nós caso precisemos deles.
We talked with the Young german rider Luc Ackermann, and learned a little more about his life, day by day has growing on montocross freestyle and is opening way for his long journey to the world championships.
Freestyle TZ: Why do you choose FMX? Luc Ackermann: I'm riding FMX because I just have so much fun on riding my bike and it's just every day awesome to be back on the Bike (smiling)
FTZ: Who is your idol? And Why? LA: My idol is for example Travis Pastrana and Levi Sherwood.
Because Travis is just doing what he wants to do and he is just going for it. And Levi has just an awesome style and he is riding really awesome.
FTZ: What do you think you need to do to take more space on Night of the Jumps (NOTJ), Red Bull X-Fighters (RBXF), or X Games? LA: I think I just have to go bigger and just have to ride more and to train harder.
FTZ: What do you think about the X Games canceled the best trick? In your idea what could happen with the sport? LA: I think they made a really Big mistake! The Best Trick was for everyone something special. And know it also for me just another series like all the other ones. The normal X-Games was better i mean it's still X-Games but not anymore The Real One
FTZ: How do you make your training? LA: By the way of riding. I'm doing a lot of sport to keep fit and my normal training is just riding, riding and riding
FTZ: What do your parent, for helping you and your brother? LA: My parrent help me a lot. They bought my first bikes and they are still every time there for us if we need something.
A atenção para este ano do Red Bull X-fighters está praticamente toda voltada para a etapa dos EUA.
A empresa responsável pela produção da pista divulgou uma foto do projeto em sua página do facebook, onde com isso está atingindo um grande número de seguidores (likes) e sem contar os comentários a respeito da majestosa pista que preparam.
A pista será uma das melhores e mais bem estruturadas na história do FMX, contando com diversos obstáculos inclusives alguns "naturais"... E vocês fãs do esporte conferem aqui este grandioso projeto. Fica aqui a dica ainda para algumas empresas no Brasile e no exterior em montarem pistas mais estruturadas e com a capacidade de público maior do que o habitual.

Agora falta esperar para ver o que os renomados pilotos irão apresentar nesta complexa pista. Relembrando o ano passado no Brasil, alguns pilotos ficaram meio perdidos devido a praticarem muito em formato de JAM session (2 take off e 2 recepas)... E isso nós poderemos esperar para ver novamente, onde pilotos ficarão perdidos com tantos, mas tantos obstáculos e criatividade a ser explorada!
Com certeza os juízes irão contar muitos pontos para quem fizer um excelente uso da pista e obviamente com excelentes manobras... Porém aquele que só fizer boas manobras, pode ter a certeza de que não terá um bom resultado.
Enfim vamos esperar para ver como vai ser a tão aguardada etapa nos EUA.

The Night of the Jumps in Basel (Switzerland) was so
incredible…
In the first day we have a nice final with Remi
Bizouard (FRA) in the 1st position on podium, with Libor Podmol on 3rd
position, and a nice run and place for Brice Izzo on 2nd.
Izzo wowed the Basel crowd with a Tsunami
Flip and his new Heelclicker Underflip. A nice way to show his progress in the
competition.
Gabriel Villegas ride good, but not enough to qualify
to the finals, and finish on the 10th.

On the 2nd day the Rock Star rider Libor
Podmol finish on 1st position and show a nice and clean run. On the
podium again we have Remi Bizouard on 2nd and in the 3rd
position David Rinaldo, making another double podium with Frenchman in Basel.
Gabriel Villegas finish better his position now on 7th.

Como muitos já sabem o Red Bull X-Fighters é um tremendo show de FMX. E ele está de volta para os fãs nesta sexta feira (13/04) para mais uma apresentação no calor das areias de Dubai (EAU).

Estes são todos os pilotos listados para as competições do Red Bull X-Fighters 2012. Com certeza poderemos esperar doubles backflip, volt, muitos combo backflip.
Uma novidade que entra para este ano é a proibição de flips no primeiro round! Sim, isso foi estipulado para que alguns pilotos tivessem mais chances de irem para as finais... E com isso os juízes estipulam que não basta ficar flipando, mas sim mostrar técnica, estilo e empolgação do público. Vejam trecho retirado do livro de regras do X-Fighters 2012:
"Competition Format
Round 1
The top 6 ranked riders will sit out Round 1 and all other riders will compete in reverse ranking order. Each rider will take one run on the course with a predetermined time limit (typically 60 seconds). No inverted rotational tricks will be allowed in this round (backflips, frontflips, 360’s, inverted varials). Any rider who performs an inverted rotational trick in this round will be disqualified from competition and will forfeit all points and prize monies. At the completion of each rider’s run, the judges will award a score. When all riders in this round have completed a scored run, the top 2 scored riders will be advanced through to Round 2 where the highest scored Round 1 rider will be awarded the #7 seed and the second highest scored Round 1 rider will be awarded the #8 seed."

The worldwide FMX scene voted Javier Villegas as the
Best International FMX Rider in 2011. The FMX athlete from Chile won the NIGHT
of the JUMPs / FIM Freestyle MX World Championship series last year and reached
64% of all votes. Spaniard Dany Torres made it on top of the Euro riders and
won in the category “Best European FMX Rider.
For the 3rd
time in a row Robbie Maddison has been crowned as “Best Australian FMX Rider”.
Users choice for “Best American FMX Rider” felt to X-Games Champion Nate Adams.
Taka Higashino became “Best Asian FMX Rider” for the 2nd time.
Marcelo Simoes
won the category “Best Brazilian FMX Rider”, German FMX Champion Hannes
Ackermann has been voted as “Best German FMX Rider”. His younger brother Luc
Ackermann, World Record holder of the youngest Backflip on a motorcycle, is once
again German FMX Rookie of the year.
NIGHT of the
JUMPs newcomer Maikel Melero made it on top of two categories. The Spanish
rider is International and European Rookie of the year.
The users
choice for the best FMX Event/Series felt to the Red Bull X-Fighters followed
by the X Games and the NIGHT of the JUMPs. Best FMX Bike 2011 was once again the
Yamaha YZ 250. Finally Kyle Lozas bikeflip attempt won the Best Trick
Innovation.
The FMX Awards
were established in 2006 by Berlinièros Sports Agency to honor the world's best
Freestyle Motocross riders. Annually it awards FMX competitors who have been
outstanding during the previous year.

A gigante dos energéticos, a Red Bull, lançou no mês passado um video promocional, que mostra como é o mundo da Red Bull.
Grandes atletas como Thierry Henry (futebol), Danny MacAskill (MTB), Rian Sheckler (skate) e grandes eventos da própria fabricante como X-Fighters, Air Race, Cliff Dive, entre outros. Todos integram o video que nos mostra realmente como o lema é "Red Bull te dá asas"...
Neste episódio Potter compete no ASA Tour (Action Sports Tour) na final.
Todd explica que quer cada vez mais andar em competições de FMX sem ser o X Games; nessa lista, incluem: X Fighters, ASA Tour, Dew Tour e outros. E, depois de um tempo fora de tantas competições, ele ainda se sente um pouco nervoso naqueles 10 minutos de ansiedade antes da sua volta!
Também fala da importância da respiração durante uma volta em uma pista com vários saltos.
Segurando o ar em um ponto "x", soltando, e segurando denovo em outro ponto "y" as vezes não é tão efetivo como aprender a respirar melhor entre um pulo maior e outro e assim por diante.
Fala que também pretende estar pelo menos nos pódiums dos maiores campeonatos denovo, porquê têm tudo para isso dar certo: patrocinadores que apoiam, uma pista perfeita, amigos para treinar junto e todo o equipamento necessário para o mesmo.
Retrata o fato de que mesmo com algumas premiações baixas nos campeonatos, é sempre bom ir e andar, já que seus patrocinadores pagam pra você fazer isso, e, como ja haviam dito para ele antes "Você tem uma chance muito pequena de ser um milionário andando no FMX" (Se está ruim na gringa, imagine pra gente aqui!)
No campeonato, Potter acaba em 3° lugar, atraz de Rob Adelberg (2°) e Taka Higashino (1°). Potter cometeu um pequeno erro, mas que ajudou para que ele não conseguisse um melhor lugar no podium, que foi um deslize de sua mão em uma sequência do antepenúltimo pulo de terra.
Ao longo dos últimos anos, Potter (re) aprendeu muitas coisas e está se sentindo mais confortável nos campeonatos e procurando melhorar cada vez mais.

In this episode Potter competes in the ASA Tour (Action Sports Tour) in the final.
Todd explains that he wants to ride more in FMX competitions rather than the X Games, and this list includes: X Fighters, ASA Tour, Dew Tour and others. And after a time out of many competitions, he still feels a little nervous in those 10 minutes of anxiety before his run!
Also talks about the importance of breathing during a run on a track with many jumps. Holding the air at one point "a", releasing, and holding again at another point "b" is sometimes not as effective as learning to breathe better between a bigger jump until the another and so on.
He also says to be at least on the podiums of major championships again, because he has everything for this to work: supporting sponsors, a perfect track, friends to train together, and all the necessary equipment.
Depicts the fact that even with low prices on the championships, it's always good to go and run, since their sponsors pays them to do this, and, as he was told before: "You have a very small chance to be a millionaire on this sport" (If it's tough to earn some money over there in the U.S. could you imagine us down here at Brazil?!)
In the championship, Potter ends up in 3rd place, behind Rob Adelberg (2nd) and Taka Higashino (1st). Potter made a small mistake, wich helped him not to get a better place on the podium, that was a slip of his hand in a sequence on the second to the last dirt jump.
Over the past years, Potter (re)learned many things and he's feeling more comfortable back on the biggest championships and always wanting to be better and better.
